Today we officially opened the Community Garden at Rowville Uniting Church. The partnership between Share Space Inc and the church has seen two amazing community spaces come to life, the Sanctuary and now the Community Garden. Both spaces bringing locals together.
Huge thank you to Marcia Timmers-Leitch – Mayor Knox City Council for officially opening the garden and taking the time to come and chat to our locals. We hope you can revisit when the garden is an abundance of fresh produce.
We had a great turn out, better than we expected. Lucky I over catered and had plenty of snags! Thank you to everyone involved today. Way too many to name individually. Big shout out to Bryan Dye, Mark Wu & Jacquie for cooking the bbq. Thank you to Linda-Marie for manning the food table. Thank you to everyone that pitched in and made today happen.
I would like to say a special thank you to Sam Hastings, Rachel Hastings, Gabby and their sons. They are the ones that got the garden foundation done and then coordinated the rest of the build.
Thank you to the Hands On Learning students from Rowville Secondary College for building the garden beds and all the work to get them to the stage they are at today. Without your amazing work, it wouldn’t have happened. I absolutely love the HOL program and I would like to thank their teachers Jessica Louise Harris and Mike for making it happen.
